Frequently asked questions
What does it cost me?
Nothing. Homeowners never pay LocalHomePro. Partner contractors pay a referral fee for the introduction, and we require that this never be added to your price.
Why only one contractor?
Lead marketplaces sell your number to four or five companies and you spend a week fielding calls. We match you with the one pro best suited to the job, and arrange a second quote only if you ask.
What if I am not happy with the contractor?
Tell us. We will match you with another pro and the first one is reviewed. Repeated problems mean a contractor is removed from our network.
Do you do the work yourselves?
No. LocalHomePro is a referral and vetting service. All work is performed by independent, licensed and insured contractors under their own contract with you.
What checks do you run on contractors?
Proof of commercial general liability insurance, WSIB clearance certificate, trade licences where Ontario requires them (TSSA gas technician for HVAC, for example), business registration, references from recent local jobs, and an online reputation review.
